The most common and budgeted way to get to Genting Highlands is to buy a ticket and hop on the Express Bus from KL Sentral to Awana Station (approximately 1-hour journey by bus) and continue your journey on the Awana Skyway Cable Car from Awana Station to the Final SkyAvenue Station at Genting Highlands (10 minutes cable car ride).

The Awana Skyway is one of the most convenient ways to reach the peak of Genting Highlands from Awana Station. The Awana Cable Car operates in between 7:00 am and 11:59 pm and it takes about 10 minutes from Awana Station to SkyAvenue Station,  Genting Highlands.

There is a midway-station in between the two cable car end-stations, which is the Chin Swee Station. You can disembark at the Chin Swee station at no extra cost and explore the Chin Swee Caves Temple and its scenic surroundings. Read more about Awana Skyway

⚠️ Buy the bus ticket to Genting a day earlier if you want to depart in the morning because the tickets might be sold out and not available until the next day afternoon, especially during weekends and holidays.

Go Genting Bas

You can purchase both the express bus and cable car tickets from the ticketing counters located inside the KL Sentral building. The two ticket counters belong to the same company Go Genting.

Go down the escalator to the Basement level of KL Sentral, make a U-turn and walk further until you see a red ticket counter.

You can purchase the Express bus and Skyway ticket at the Go Genting Ticket Counter located at Level 2 inside the KL Sentral building. Go up the stairs/elevator towards Le Méridien and Hilton hotel to Level 2. Turn left and you will find the Go Genting Ticket Counter.

You can also purchase the tickets from the ticket counter at the KL Sentral Bus Terminal which is located at the basement level of KL Sentral building where the buses depart. Read the article on how to get to KL Sentral Bus Station.

ℹ️ The Level 2 Counter operating hours is from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm daily. Please proceed to the Basement Level Ticket Counter after 5:00 pm. The Basement ticket counter opens from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm from Monday to Thursday and 7:00 am to 9:00 pm on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

At the moment, there is no option to buy the Go Genting Express bus ticket online. You have to purchase the tickets from the ticket counters in KL Sentral.

The one-way taxi fees from KL Sentral to Genting Highlands is RM117. The taxi can take up to 4 persons and drive you all the way to your hotel in Genting Highlands. You can also request to stop at Awana Station to take the cable car. The budget taxi counter is located on Level 2 KL Sentral.

⚠️ If you travel by taxi after midnight (12:00 am), there will be an additional 50% charges for a midnight taxi ride. It will cost you about RM175.50 to reach Genting.
